In recent years Eggen has become an insider tip for rewarding holidays off the beaten track and far from transit traffic.

This location ins unique! You can reach Eggen in approximately twenty minutes from the motorway, exit Bozen (Bolzano) Nord, via a new and fast road. The pretty little village is surrounded by the forests of the Eggental valley at the foot of the Latemar range, very close to the renowned ski area Obereggen-Ski Center Latemar.

The cross country ski tracks, via ferratas, bicycle routes, wine cellars, museums, shops and lakes on both sides of the Latemar range are easy to reach. Together with the surrounding hamlets of Obereggen, Rauth and Birchabruck, Eggen has approximately 700 inhabitants and offers everything a little village needs - a beautiful parish church (with its very own priest!!), Evi's Deli and Lina's grocery store, a bank, several young hotels and restaurants, a community centre and... surprise, surprise, even a sports ground complete with tennis court, soccer and volleyball field and a playground.
